FROM THE OFFICE OF THE FAIR MANAGER
Welcome to the 119th Carlton County Fair! The theme is "Our Fair will SHINE in 2009." Stipe Shows will provide the midway and I heard they've got a new ride or two. Zerebko Zoo-Tran Petting Zoo and Pony Rides will be on the grounds the entire Fair! This is quality family entertainment at its BEST!!
Other entertainment in the Pavilion: Monroe Crossing, Amateur Talent Contest, Chmielewski Funtime Show Band, Paul Christian, Colleen Myhre, Crows in the Corn and others.
Our Premium Book is dedicated to a couple that has greatly impacted the Fair. Ron and Barb Hammitt have been instrumental in a number of areas at the Fair and I look forward to introducing them to you in the Dedication article.
Again all Open Class Exhibits (check livestock divisions for entry day and time) can be entered on Wednesday, August 12th between 11 am and 7 pm (Horticulture is 10am to 8pm). In 2008 we decided to make Open Class Entry Day the same for all exhibit divisions to help with travel expenses. So those who enter in multiple divisions can do so in one trip and parents of 4Her’s can utilize the time to get their entries in too.
All Open Class judging will take place on Thursday morning and will be done before or shortly after the gate opens at 11 am. I’d like to invite you to enter an exhibit or two or more in an area of interest. We have a division for everything so get creative and plan ahead! Please call the office or your division superintendent if you have questions.
Our 3rd Annual Military Family Day is on Saturday, August 15. We think it’s a great way to recognize the families who sacrifice when their loved ones are off protecting our freedom. We thank you for this!
If your business is interested in providing tickets please call the office at 389-6737. So many people, businesses, townships, communities, and cities contribute time, talents, and donations to make our Fair great. We want you to know that you are all greatly appreciated. Thank you and see you at the Fair!
